The spool’s threading is clean and consistent, which makes it practical for actual reenactment sewing, not just shelf display. I’ve used it to repair a tunic and the black cotton holds its color well under the needle. Solid little piece for the price.

The black finish looks properly aged for a WWII-era piece, and the thread winds evenly around the spool without snagging. It sits nicely on my display shelf next to my other reenactment gear, and the weight feels solid enough for regular handling.

The detailing on this reproduction spool is spot-on for my reenactment kit—the black finish and proportions match the period photos I've seen. It sits nicely on the sewing table and holds thread just as well as any modern spool would.
